About Dr. K. Anji Reddy & His Entrepreneurship:
He is founder and Chairman of Dr. Reddys Group of companies. He was awarded with padma shri in 2001. He is pioneer in pharmaceutical research in India.
He did his B.Sc. in pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals from Mumbai University and subsequencially did Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from NAtional Chemical Laboratory Pune in 1969. Dr. Reddy served in PSU Indian drugs and pharmaceuticals Ltd in 1969 to 1975. He was founder - Managing Director of Uniliods in 1976 to 1980 and standard organic Ltd in 1980 to 1984.
Dr. K. Anji Reddy founded Dr. Reddy's Laboratory in 1984 and set up new Bechmarks. He transformed Indian drug industry from import dependant in 1980s to self reliant in 1990s and finally into export oriented industry in 2000s that it is now presently.
Dr. Reddys Lab became first Indian Comapny to take up drug discovery research in India in 2001 and first non-japanese Asian comapy to list on NYSE by end of 2005 fiscal.
Dr. Reddy's Lab is India's Second Largest Pharmaceutical Comapny and the youngest amongst its peer grups.
